Finally Know What's in Your Garage and Storage Unit

Garages and storage units become black holes — you forget what's stored where, buy duplicates of things you already own, and waste hours digging through boxes. There's a better way.

The Problem: Out of Sight, Out of Mind

You packed those boxes months — or years — ago. Now you need something and have no idea which box it's in. So you drive to the storage unit, open box after box, and either find it after an hour or give up and buy a new one.

Americans spend over $38 billion a year on self-storage. Much of what's stored is forgotten, duplicated, or never accessed again — simply because there's no way to know what's inside without opening every box.

The Solution: Scan, Search, Find

Cratify lets you label every box with a QR code, organize your storage by zones or shelves, and scan any box to see its contents instantly. No more guessing, no more digging, no more buying duplicates.

  • QR code labels — Scan any box with your phone to see exactly what's inside
  • Zone organization — Set up shelves, racks, and areas as "rooms" within your storage location
  • Search everything — Looking for your camping gear? Search across all boxes at once
  • Photo inventory — Every item has a photo, so you can visually confirm what's where

How to Use Cratify for Garage & Storage

Four steps to a fully organized storage space.

1️⃣

Create Your Storage Location

Add your garage, storage unit, or shed as a location in Cratify. Give it a name you'll remember.

2️⃣

Set Up Zones or Shelves

Create "rooms" for different areas — left wall, top shelf, back corner. This helps you find boxes without scanning every one.

3️⃣

Label Boxes with QR Codes

Create boxes in the app, photograph the contents, and print QR labels. Attach them to the outside of each box.

4️⃣

Scan Any Box to See Inside

Next time you visit, scan a QR code to see every item in that box — with photos. Or search for a specific item to find which box it's in.

Garage & Storage: Common Questions

Can I organize a storage unit with Cratify?

Absolutely. Create your storage unit as a location in Cratify, then set up zones or shelf areas as "rooms." Create boxes for each container, photograph the contents, and print QR code labels. The next time you visit your storage unit, scan any box to see exactly what's inside.

How do QR labels hold up in a garage?

Cratify's QR labels are designed to be printed on standard label paper or card stock. For garages and storage units, we recommend using waterproof label paper or placing labels inside clear packing tape for extra durability. The QR codes are high-contrast and scan reliably even with minor wear.

Can multiple people access the same storage inventory?

Yes. Cratify lets you share your storage inventory with family members or anyone who needs access. They can scan boxes, add items, and search the inventory from their own device.

How is Cratify different from just writing on boxes with a marker?

Writing on boxes tells you a general category, but not what's actually inside. Cratify gives you a complete, searchable inventory — with photos of every item. Instead of opening five boxes to find your camping gear, you search "tent" and Cratify tells you exactly which box it's in.

Does Cratify work offline in a storage unit?

Cratify requires an internet connection to sync data and use AI features. However, you can photograph items and create entries at home before heading to the storage unit, then simply attach the pre-printed QR labels when you arrive.

Take Control of Your Storage

Stop guessing and start scanning. Label your garage or storage unit in an afternoon and never lose track of a box again.
